Lupita Guerrero has worked as a Health Education & Community Support Coordinator for MI since August 2021. Born in Oakland, raised in Berkeley, and being the daughter of Mexican immigrants she became familiar with the community MI serves. She started with MI programs when she was only 12 years old as a participant of the MAS program! She then held various positions at MI being a tutor and YWF coordinator. After graduating from UC Merced with a Bachelors in Public Health she was able to work with other organizations focusing on health, giving her experience for her current position. She cares about the health and wellbeing of the community and understands the multiple social determinants of health that impede low income, Black and Brown communities from receiving access to healthcare and wants a change.
