Capital Campaign Update

Despite a national climate of economic uncertainty, the Multicultural Institute (MI) has continued to gradually expand and successfully develop partnerships with organizations, community leaders and concerned neighbors who share a common belief in the Institute’s visionary work. In July 2011, MI began its ambitious three-year Siempre Adelante Capital Campaign dedicated to raising the one million dollars needed to complete the purchase and renovation of the property, creating a lasting foundation for MI’s important work. Successful campaigning will position us to: (1) upgrade the foundation of the building, (2) make essential interior enhancements for program use, and (3) create additional space to permit program expansion.

The first phase has begun with our strong, loyal base, and through intensive outreach and cultivation efforts led by a dedicated campaign committee, we have secured close to $300k in pledged and received gifts. The end of the Campaign will feature community-level gifts, to encourage a sense of ownership by those who most directly experience the fruits of MI’s work.
